A short BIO
I am Arnaldo and I was born in Rome (Italy) in 1970 where I have token the full Diploma as Architect (at University of Rome -La Sapienza / Faculty of Architecture) in 2004
For few years I worked freelance in Rome as consultant for different Architectural Studios, and then I moved to London in 2007. There I worked for a while in a small firms and I did a Master of Design (MofA)
Then in 2010 the “family toke over”. I was busy parenting for years while working as Digital Illustrator and Artist.
I met Stefano in 2017 (co-founder of Tade Space as ltd company in 2019)
In a 12 million metropolis we were neighbour and, of course, we didn’t know each other. We started to collaborate almost as coincidence. Say it was a “fortunate circumstance” and since the really beginning the boundaries of our roles (as designer for Arnaldo, as carpenter for Stefano) were clearly… foggy. But our mixed background of our experiences worked as rich soil. Ideas flourished spontaneously. More solid projects as well. Step by step but incredibly quickly we realised of the great potentialities we had.
One eye pointed to the future, one pointed to traditions.
In 2019 Tade Space was founded as Limited Company. We have been, and we are, very proud of the these steps.
Us Design Studio we started the making of the first pieces.
But not long after, unfortunate family circumstances forced me to move first to Rome (Italy) in January 2020 and therefore to Groningen (NL) in August 2020).
It had been a very hard moment, for me as for everybody.
Because of these events, together with global circumstances, such as the COVID-19 pandemic and The Brexit, we collectively decided to quit the company as Limited. The studio, as it is with its logo and name, remained under my controls and responsibility, though Stefano keeps having an external eye occasionally.
After moving to Groningen (NL), I struggled to find the right motivation and one full year was needed to have a flavour of Groningen (NL), settle down with the whole family and start again.
2021 Across the winter a new encounter. I met Giulia Carpeneto: Architect from Genoa (It) who s now part of the Studio.
In TADE SPACE studio I work mostly on design and prototyping new products. Also, as Giulia always says, we have to wear many “hats” at the same time.
A little bit of chronology
2022
By the middle of the year Arnaldo met Giulia, another Italian architect. Together decided to lunch again Tade Space as Design Studio.
2020
Due to family reasons Arnaldo moved back to Italy for few months and in August moved again to Groningen (NL). It had been a difficult year, as for everybody. Arnaldo focused on the new environment.
2019
Tade Space is founded.
One eye pointed to the future, one pointed to traditions. First products had been made.
2018
Digital Artist
Many projects going on in 2018. Same as web designer, other as illustrator and digital artist. In this year Arnaldo made logo for academic studies and until the end of the year Arnaldo is focused on a big project with Bernardo Cinquetti (writer and dear friend) that unfortunately died due to a cancer.
2017
From illustrations to design
Thanks to the meeting with Stefano and Arnaldo came back to his originals background. Architect and Furniture Designer.
2017- November: Working in collaboration as with Stefano as designer. Commissioned work to design bespoke wardrobe for a private client.
Meantime Arnaldo was still working as illustrator:
2017 April: Working free-lance as illustrator and graphic designer.
Commissioned work to design Logo in business cards and educational Company.
2017 – March: Talented Artist Fair, London Brick Lane
2017- February: Working free-lance as illustrator and graphic designer. Commissioned work to design and draw an advertisement page to be published in Opera Magazine for a Tour Operator Company.
2017- January: Working free-lance as illustrator and graphic designer. Commissioned work to design Logo in business cards for a Tour Operator Company.
